Java is a perfect pullback "buy" opportunity!
Yesterday, I purchased 1 block at 6.55 and wrote 100 May strike 5 at 2.00 for an intrinsic time value of .45/contract. This isn't an anemic return in 51/2 remaining weeks to option expiration. Besides, if the shares don't get called by expiration, holding the stock at 5 or below is nearly 4.50 points below the tender IBM offer!
These are the type of anomalies that I strive to look for.
Unfair ruling on Amylin recent FDA meeting. Shares are a strong buy!
Amylin has retreated nearly 25% in one week. Shares have fallen after a link between thyroid cancer in animals and Novo Nordisk's liraglutide was brought to light during a meeting of a Food and Drug Administration advisory panel last week. I'm adamant that the risk whch the FDA took into consideration is exagerrated. Exenatide and liraglutide are not only different molecules, but cases of of thyroid cancer have not been documented in patients enrolled in the clinical trials.
I purchased 1/2 a block at 9.25 and wrote 50 may strike 10 calls at 1.10/contract. I plan on dollar cost averaging at the proper pivatol points as well as rolling options moth after month, until i feel the shares have matured.
WFC: The May strike 10 calls offer a reasonable intrinsic time value
I purchased 1/2 block (5000 shares) of WFC at 15.21 and hedged the shares by writing 50 May strike 10 calls at 5.91 for an intrinsic time value premium of .71contract. If the shares get called away by the third week of May, I pocket 3,5550.00 on a 76,050 investment in reoughly 5 1/2 weeks. If the shares are below the strrike of 10 by option expiration, it will be a good further hold nevertheless, considering the much improved conditions in the health of the financial markets.
I welcome all constructive criticism.
